Arpeggio playback
I have been transposing some Mandolin pieces into Musescore. The works I am concentrating on are arrangements of Celtic harp works and require a harp-like sound to the (H)arpeggiated chords.
Has the playback facility really been discontinued? I checked some old Guitar scores. The arpeggiated chords still sound but a bit more subtle than I recall.
Am I able to turn this feature back on? ( I have ticked the 'play' box in the inspector). Or will I have to revert to an earlier version of Musescore to make it available?
Thank you.
Peter

I'm not sure to what previous playback feature you're referring. To my knowledge arpeggios do still play back.
Can you perhaps share a(n older) score where this still works as you intend it? And then a current one where it no longer does? That way we can try and compare them to figure out differences.
I tried copying the work into a Guitar score. I was able to get arpeggiated playback. A tad clunky but some separation of notes was there. Why not on a mandolin score?

Again, without knowing how you're trying to make the arpeggiated effect I can't really help you any further.
As far as I'm aware there is no difference at all between how arpeggios are processed between different instruments. So this should work on a Mandolin just as it does on a guitar or a piano or a whatever other instrument.

For arpeggios, the "separation of notes" can be tweaked by selecting the arpeggio and then adjusting the 'Stretch' in the Inspector.
Have a listen:

(Note that the final arpeggio is "stretched out" much more than the others, like a harp.)
