Cut the time in half/augment

Is there some way of cutting the value of notes in half and retaining their original relationship (or augmenting them by some factor)? If I write 6 eighth notes and want to cut them into 6 sixteenths and maintain their original phrasing (not 16th, 16th rest, 16th, 16th rest, etc.), is this possible without rewriting the entire phrase? For the rhythmically challenged writers among us. Asking for a friend...
