Repeating lyric lines
I have several scores with multiple lyric verses where only one or a few words change. I tried Ctrl C on the entire first set of lyrics, then Ctrl L to get to the next line, then Ctrl V - but no result. Clearly, that's not the procedure but it would be nice to copy a line into succeeding verses. I'm sure I'm missing something. I just can't seem to find the answer in the manual.

Indeed, you wouldn't be able to paste that way, although it seems a reasonable thing to hope for. Instead, try this:
1) select the lyrics
2) Ctrl+C to copy
3) use the Inspector to move them to the next verse
4) now select the first note
5) Ctrl+V
The lyrics will be pasted back to the original verse.

I never thought of using the inspector to move lyrics. That does work! Thanks.

You’re welcome! To be clear, I meant, literally changing the verse number, not just fiddling the Y offset to make them appear like they are in another verse. That probanly won’t work, so you presumably got what I meant, but I figured I should clarify for anyone stumbling on this later :-) but

Yes, I got that. The software has so many features that I just don't know how to do everything. I tend to figure things out as I need them. I notate a lot of international folk music, with lyrics, and I don't know how to get all the special accents I need. I've been copying them from my character map but that is tedious and, further, I must repeat the process for each letter incident - once I ctrl V, that is not repeatable. Also, even when I highlight the character I'm replacing, the new one is added so I must delete the old, rather than overwrite.
Again, I'm sure there's a way but............
I appreciate all your help. I pass on what I learn to some others notating the same type of music so, somehow, we're building the knowledge base. My favorite was notating a piece as (11+7) / 8 and learning how to put a false split in the measure to make it easier to play the rhythm.

Good news, there's a way to make your special character work much easier. Just open the special characters palette (press F2 while editing text) once, then drag whichever characters you need to one of your regular palette - the Text palette, or add a new one just for these. From then one, adding a special character is just a click in your palette away.

Perfect - and not a surprise that Musescore would have something like character map! Thanks so much.
