Sforzando (The VST) - Musescore 4
I've heard about a VST called Sforzando from a forum post, so I downloaded it. However, I can't seem to find a VST3 file in it, which is (I'm pretty sure) the only way it would work.

I just checked their download (windows) which is an executable. It's an installer, if you run it, you get the option of installing Sforzando as a standalone/vst2/vst3/... or all of them. So I'd imagine that if you ask it to install the vst3 version that that is what you'd end up with.

You're showing the result of the sforzando program files installation which indeed come along (including ARIA player). The vst3 itself is installed in the default VST3 location as per the Steinberg recommended standard: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\sforzando.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win

Okay, thank you, but why is it like this?

Because the licensor of the VST3 format wants it that way:
"The VST3 format has a dedicated installation path all VST3 plug-ins must comply with." quoted from https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/115000177084-VST-plug…
However, MuseScore knows that not everyone adheres to this standard and as such allows you to configure additional VST3 locations in its preferences.
I'm using Sforzando with success in MS4:
