Different dynamic velocity for musescore
I want to indicate mezzo forte on a note, but I want the mezzo forte to actually play the velocity of a forte or fortissimo. In Musescore 3.6, you would just have to go to properties and alter the velocity. But in Musescore 4 there's only options for the visual features. I even saw the Youtube video they uploaded on dynamics but the playback features option is not available for any dynamics.

The velocity is now a note-only thing, so set it on those notes directly instead.
The new playback engine no longer builds on top of raw MIDI and the volume of a note does not necessarily map straight onto velocity anymore. It is stated that some kind of Volume/Velocity Lane editing will be made available in one of the next feature updates.

Oh okay thanks for the clarification!

I can't get the velocity to make any changes? I tried setting the velocity to 2 compared to the default of 64, as an extreme test-case, and it sounded literally the exact same. Is this a bug or is there literally no fine control over volume levels any more?

Velocity isn't mapped to Muse Sounds interface yet.
It should work when using the default MS Basic sounds.
