the free of charge musescore 3 sf3
an assortment of nice quality instrument sounds (comparing to the Xbits era)
realistic piano
38MB miraculously
plus musescore 3 runs on cheap builds of machines (yes raspberry too) and various OSs including Linux
Paid are really good, but if you search a lot you can find free soundfont that are out of mind. So 50/50, but maybe some free are better than the others.
Which paid ones are really good? Looks like I'll be on MS3 for a while yet so a good SF2 at reasonable cost may be a worthwhile investment. (I am particularly interested in nylon string guitars).
I wanted more synth sounds, so I purchased Vintage Keys and Vintage Pro soundfonts from Digital Sound Factory. I'm happy with Vintage Pro, you get a lot of sounds and there are several that I plan on using.

MS3 sorry but is really bad, instead there are a lot better than that out there. Paid i'm talking about Erania's piano soundfonts, those are amazing.
