Rhythmic Slash Notation Doesn't Work (Musescore 4)
Hi, I'm trying to use the rhythmic slash notation in a piece, but when I attempt to "toggle rhythmic slash notation", it turns all the slashes back into normal notes (instead of slashes, which is what they were before). I would like note heads to remain as slashes but still show rhythm, which it seems like normal "tools-->fill with slashes" can't. This is what I'm doing:
-
I have a measure of slashes (the instrument is acoustic guitar):
-
I select the measure and click "tools-->toggle rhythmic slash notation":
-
All the slashes turn into normal notes:
Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help!

Toggle rhythmic notation works from normal notes, turning them into slashes, or turning slashes back into normal notes. That's what it means by "toggle". So, normally you wouldn't be using it in conjunction with fill with slashes at all. You'd enter the actual rhythm you want as normal notes, then toggle rhythmic slash notation. I guess if the rhythm you are trying to convey is four quarter notes, it would work also to fill with slashes then toggle rhythmic slash notation twice. That would be a very odd thing to notate though - usually this feature would be used only for more specific rhythms, not simple strums.

Ohhh, that makes sense. I was just using the quarter notes as an example. Thanks so much!
