Unwanted piano sound on top of strings score
Hello! I have a score for strings (violin, viola, cello). But when I add a missing note I had forgotten, the added note (only the added note) sounds as a "blend" of string and piano. How can I remove the unwanted piano sound? Thanks for your help

Hi,
I think you can follow these steps:
Select the added note in your score. Click and drag to highlight the note or use Shift+Arrow keys to select it.
Open the Inspector panel by pressing F8 or by going to View > Inspector.
In the Inspector panel, under the "Element" tab, locate the "Channel" dropdown menu.
Change the channel assignment for the selected note to the appropriate string instrument (violin, viola, cello). Select the desired string instrument channel from the dropdown menu. This will ensure that the note is played by the correct instrument and not the piano.
If the unwanted piano sound persists, check if there are any conflicting MIDI channels or instrument assignments in your score. Select the other notes in the score and verify that they are assigned to the correct instrument channels.
Save your changes and play back the modified score to ensure that the added note no longer exhibits a blend of piano and strings.
By properly assigning the channels and instrument settings within MuseScore, you can ensure that each note is played by the intended instrument and eliminate the unwanted blend of piano and strings.

Thanks for your quick answer.
First question: point 1, I select the note only by clicking (click and drag will change the pitch, right?). I am using Musescore 3.6.2.
Second difficulty: Points 3&4, In the Element tab of the inspector I cannot find any dropdown menu with Channel.
Is it because of the version of Musescore or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for your patience

Additional information. The problem is created by the "Harmony Analyzer plugin". The score sounds ok when I write the notes, but you can hear the unpleasent piano sound when I write above the staff the Chord symbol.

Consequently, all I have to do is click on the Chord symbol and disable the "play" option in the Note submenu of the Inspector. Problem solved!!! Thanks
