Audio is messed up
So the audio on my musescore 4 is messed up. There are 2 problems:
1. The audio plays really slowly (and I don't think it's lag)
2. The audio plays an octave lower than it should
The audio was working completely fine up until last night.
I have checked:
My system meets the minimum for all the required specs
Windows 10, several GB of free space, 8 GB ram, 4 cores CPU, 1280x720 display (it's almost funny how my system has literally exactly the required specs because I didn't change anything for musescore)
I'm on the latest version (4.2)
I've looked online for a solution but haven't found one
The clefs are right
The tempo bar is set to 100%
These problems apply to all my scores
The problem also applies when I click a note (when placing them)
I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no change
This is how it sounds on my end:

I've uploaded my troubleshooting score
Edit: My octave problem seems to be similar to the one on this post: https://musescore.org/en/node/353988 which doesn't have useful answers
The "Note" in the bottom left shows the correct pitch as does the pdf export, and the mp3 export plays the correct note. It's just the audio while I'm using it is different.
Update 1/22/2024: I haven't touched musescore since about 2 weeks ago, and now it suddenly works fine again? idk what is going on, will update if it happens again

Re-install never works. Don't bother. Instead open the Help tab and re-set MU4 to factory specs.

This didn't work, the problem is still occuring
Anything to do with buffer size (Edit >Preferences >I/O) or you audio device's sample rate, as per this post?:

I don't see why it would, given that it was working and then it suddenly wasn't
I've tried all 4 combinations of 1024 and 4096 buffer sizes and 44.1k and 48k Hz and none of them work, my default is 48k Hz and I didn't modify the default buffer size until this problem happened

Did you uncheck "Exclusive" mode? And have an SSD

I have an SSD I did not uncheck exclusive mode but I tried it again with all 4 variations of the settings above without exclusive mode and none of them worked
I had MS4 on my Win 10 4 year old Dell. When I put MS 4.2 in my TridgeKey Win11 which has 8 cores and 16 threads GPU 16GB of RAM 1/2 TB of NVMe and all the lag / hesitation / out of sync play back / and waiting fore Style to open was fine. This tells me ya need a hardware up grade. All software is getting wider in bandwidth and old companies can't keep up. Good luck it's fun when it runs.
