They just don't seem to work most of the time. You could put a ff, or so, followed by a p on the next note. make those dynamics invisible. Then put the marking you want.

Thanks for replying. So we have to do that, well. If they do work, which they do for some Musesounds instruments, is there a forte-mezzo piano and forte-mezzo forte sforzando dynamic? 'fmp' or 'fmf' sort of thing if you will?

Someday the ability to define dynamics will return. There are those that refuse to use MU4 because of this one thing.

sfz doesn't work smoothly at all. Just like any sudden dynamic change.
