Sound Midi file to be converted to printed notation pdf
Hi there,
I'm new to MuseScore since its updates and I'm having difficulty finding (if it even exists - I thought it used to years ago) the ability to play a midi file to then have it transcribed by MuseScore into printable sheet music. I can't seem to find that feature anywhere. My app is up to date.
Thank you in advance :)

You can just open a midi file in Musescore. It will be converted to notation. Whether that notation looks sensible or not depends greatly on how the midi was created If it was created from a live performance, expect to be disappointed, but you never know

Thank you for this - my issue seems to be HOW to open the Midi file in Musescore - I've looked at all the drop down options and don't see anything MIDI related.

Yes, years ago in MuseScore 3, the MIDI Import Panel feature allowed one to adjust parameters affecting the MIDI conversion process. After making adjustments, re-importing the MIDI could produce better results.
See:

Nowadays, in MuseScore 4, the MIDI Import Panel is not currently implemented.
(However, if you wish to experiment, MuseScore 3 can co-exist on the same computer with MuseScore 4.)
