Playback from Windows 10 Saved File
Hi. Newbie, here. Please be patient; trying to explain. I composed a score using Muse Score 4. Originally I had downloaded 3 c. a year ago, then upgraded to 4. But my scores are on 4.
But when I went to my files to try to open one of my scores directly from the computer, it tried to open them on Muse Score 3 without an option to open them on 4: even though, yes, they're under "Scores Muse 4" not "3." And an "unable to open; have to upgrade to 4" message came up and I can't open them except in the Muse Score software itself.
Hope you understand me. Concerned because saved files are meant to be opened when needed. Thank you so much!

I assume that you are using Windows - otherwise my advice may not be correct.
When you double-click on a file, the last installed program for mscz files is launched and tries to open the file. In your case, this is Musescore 3.
If you right-click and select 'Open with', you can select a different program (in general), here Musescore 4. If you want, you can check the 'Always' option (I don't know the exact English wording), then the next time you double-click, it will automatically be Musescore 4.
