Slurs only take first & last notes into account (leading to overlaps)
Hey there folks, first time posting so I wanted to start by saying THANK YOU!!!! for this incredible piece of software and all your valuable time spent writing it.
I have encountered one problem which I was hoping to show you.
When creating slurs, there's often an overlap with MuseScore. It seems that MuseScore takes the beginning and end notes into account when determining the curve of the slur (which is perfect), but it fails to use notes in between to determine the vertical location of the slur.
Perhaps I could demonstrate with several examples below.

When I push the high F an octave higher, we see the problem even more clearly:

All it takes to repair this in MuseScore is to move the slur vertically to be just above the highest note as follows:
So I believe the only thing missing in MuseScore is automatic vertical positioning of the slur based on the highest (or lowest) note.

Thanks so much for the reply, I'll keep an eye on that ticket for improvements to this in future versions :)
FWIW, I note that both Finale and Notion avoid the stems but do a terrible job of it - the slurs are drawn very poorly and require manual adjustment as well. I suspect Sibelius, Dorico, or LilyPond would make better examples here.
Here is what the current development build of MuseScore 3 does. To me, the first one looks far better than either Finale or Notion, the second is also significantly better but I'd say there is still room for improvement.

Which nightly did you using? I get with the newest nightly (from December 30, 2017; 65a3873) slurs, which crossing notes.

Thanks for the replies, and I too was going to ask how you activated this on the nightly build since I had the same problem there, hehe :)
