My own MuseScore Version of the Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra Soundfont (TRY IT OUT)!

• Nov 8, 2016 - 13:22

This Soundfont was ORIGINALLY made by Symphony2: https://musescore.org/en/node/20378

However, I made my own MuseScore Version of the Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra.

I made a few adjustments in the instruments

I added a Harpsichord, Harpsichord Lute Set, Celeste, Vibraphone, Marimba, Pipe Organ, Chapel Organ, Nylon Guitar, Viola, Double Bass, Tremolo Strings, Pizzicato Strings, Regular Strings, Slow Strings, Soprano Sax, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Recorder, Regular Timpani, and a Standard Drumset.

The orchestral instruments are in the exact 0 bank orders like in any kind of soundfont. The rest of the orchestral instruments are in Bank 1.

Download the Updated Soundfont here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2I_8bgGH-Q3Z1Y5OWlST3k4dzA

And Symphony2, If you are seeing this, you should be proud of me for doing this.

Now everyone can use this version of the soundfont for all of their compositions and arrangements.

If you all have any questions or concerns, please feel-free to comment below.

Enjoy the soundfont.

just tested with your Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra sf, it sounds very good,
meanwhile, started to engrave Bruch - Scottish Fantasy, FULL Orchestra & Piano Part

Can You post an audio using the soundfont? My internet is kind of slow, So it takes a long time to download... and I would like to hear it before doing so, Thanks!

The Bass Clarinet is kind of buggy. For instance, it won't play anything below Concert E Flat. Could you see if you could fix it and post an updated version for that? Thanks!

Hi!!!

Great work!!! Thank you so much!!!

I really envy your computing skills to do something like that!!! I really want to learn how to do it!!!

BUT... As any human work... There are two "bugs" about Sonatina soundfont file that you didn't fix:

1) Almost all the instruments were recorded using stereo sound, which is not "natural". Only the instrument human players could hear (if they could...) some stereo sound effect from their played instruments. Remember that most of instruments have only one "mouth" to give their sounds. One "mouth" = One only audio channel, in other words = Monophonic sound!!!. So... The natural thing should be a full monophonic sound from each instrument. That is which any other people would hear as a final sound. Never forget that the final stereo sound effect (violins to the right, cellos to the left, flutes at center, etc.) only can be full "catched" by the orchestra director. The common audience... hardly will hear some real stereo sound from the stage, because the physical distance from the source of the sound to them (adding the very known issue about the too much sound reflects into the theatre). Changing this stereo sound into full monophonic sound it is also useful to fix some phasing issues between both stereo channels, into some instrument sounds (like violin). So, please, try to fix it!!!

2) Some instruments have some very rare pitch range limits. For example, the Clarinet. It is true the low range limit of the Bb Clarinet, but... there is something called "Bass Clarinet"!!! So... The pitch limit isn't necessary or wanted.

Whatever, again... VERY THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND WORK!!!!!!!

Blessings & Greetings from Chile!!!!!!!
