Synthesizing the lyrics
I have produced XML files which play just fine in Musescore. Does anyone know about the possibility of getting the synthesizer to 'read' the lyrics? Might there be, for instance, a music XML tag that gives pronunciation, such as would be determined by TTS software.

MuseScore has no such functionality built-in.
Depending on your needs and budget, you could perhaps look into using a program such as vocaloid.
Perhaps try Harmony Assistant with the Virtual Singer add-on, from Myriad Software?

Thanks - that is the trigger to my memory. Quite possibly this has potential.
