Installed 3.4.2 (in documents?)
I just installed 3.4.2 and was by chance looking in Documents and found the folder Musescore3. Why is the folder there? I was going to delete it but that's the installation. I don't think I can run it without that folder.

It can run without that folder.
The folder in your documents folder is the default location where MuseScore offers to store your scores when you save them. It is also the location to install eventual plugins, soundfonts, templates, styles to your heart contents.
That way, all of those files remain untouched by new installs or removal of the software.
[EDIT:] You can change the default location for all these things in Edit → Preferences within MuseScore
FWIW, all versions of MuseScore do this - create a folder under your Documents folder where it expects you to keep your scores, plugins, soundfonts, templates, etc. While you could delete the folder, then you'd have to explicitly choose different locations for all of those things in Preferences, and recreate that work any time you revert to factory settings for whatever reason. Even if you choose to keep your scores elsewhere, I highly recommend keeping the folder structure there for the sake of everything else.

So I'll keep it there, because I plan to experiment with soundfonts soon. Now all I'll have to do is remember that there is an extra folder in docs.
