cresendo/diminuendo over note in Musescore 3
Im using Musescore 3 and for some reason the hairpins dont change the loudness for those notes it is applied too on some instruments and parts (like the alto flute at the beginning of the score. it works for the vocals)
the score was started on Musescore 2 so im not sure if theres a problem.

See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/hairpins#hairpin-playback
It states:
"A hairpin only affect playback if there are appropriate dynamics somewhere before and after the hairpin."
also:
"A hairpin may be used without dynamic marks, by adjusting "Velocity change" in the Inspector (values in the range 0 to 127)."

oh ok so the dynamics has to be directly before and after?

No, not directly before and after; just somewhere before and after — any distance.
