page settings are out of control
Hello
My score is over 2 pages, but I want it to be on one page. I have tried many things and reduced the scaling to 1,364 but then there is a big gap to the last line.
Can anyone help

In the attached files:
B -> Ctrl + A -> Layout -> Decrease stretch;
C -> Layout / Page Settings / Scale: 1,364;
Style / General ... / Page -> Last system fill threshold: 0%
Might be ok?

Hello
I have tried to follow your instructions, but the big gap beween the last line and the score does not disappear. I can se, that you have succeeded in making the file right, but I cannot do the same as you have done.
What means with B-> and C->
But thank you for your help, I can use your file now, but HOW ?????????
Did you see the big gap Bar 14-16 stands on the bottom part of the paper. That was my problem

Clearly either MuseScore has screwed up or there is more to this than meets the eye because all my usual tricks to format the page correctly failed.
On closed investigation - and I do not know why this has happened - under the lyric " lær' " in Measure 13 you appear to have several lines of lyrics containing only one space and only under that lyric. When you remove them then you can apply spacing correctly.
Go to the lyric " lær' " and use the Down-Arrow to take you to the bottom "lyric" then delete it, move to the one above it etc.
The reason you can't fit the third system on the page is that there are a whiole bunch of (mostly invisible) lyrics below the second verse on the bottom staff. They are all below the "C" on the downbeat of measure 13. I discovered this by first guessing this might be the problem because I've seen it happen before, then testing the theory by double clicking the lyrics and hitting down arrow to see if I could go down. That note allowed me to go down a whole bunch of tijes and finally seeing a single apostrophe. Deleting that apostrophe is actually all you need to to do to fix the problem.
EDIT: darn, just a minute too late :-)

I discovered this because my day job involves bursts of inspiration interspersed with episodes of Vulcan-like analysis (i.e. I can guess and am sneaky and tenacious).

Is there a kind of "show all" which would also show all "invisible" or "white" things to help investigating this kind of problems?

@frfancha, is not invisible (see the attachment) but be Vulcans helps ;-)

You can start MuseScore from the command line with the "-d" option which shows boxes around everything.

Thanks Marc and others for the quick answer.
I take the opportunity to say that the greatest quality of Musescore is not being free, it is the quality and speed at which one receives answer to any question in this forum.
I don't know any other software with such a splendid support.
