Hi Jojo;
In the search box on Musescore home page, you can put plugin.
The result is https://musescore.com/sheetmusic?text=plugin, you can bookmark that.

Thanks, but I know how do find it, new users most probably would not ;-)

Wait—how is https://musescore.com/sheetmusic?text=plugin of any use?

For future readers, the plugins page is at https://musescore.org/plugins and for now, it's not linked anywhere indeed.

What about including a "Get Plugins" link to that page from the Plugins menu within MuseScore? (After #116901: Finish categorizing plugins according to MuseScore version compatibility is taken care of.)

Although I can see that being helpful as a short term solution (2.0.4 if ever). I'd rather have 3.0 include a plugin manager closer to a software center / app store that would only show compatible plugins from the musescore.org 'repository' and/or plugins (or repositories) you've added to it.

Now, that would be phenomenal. Something in the code for the Resource Manager (currently used only to download language packs) makes me think it was previously thought of, just never brought to light—can you share any insight on that?

Nope.. Haven't looked at implementation details yet; but I'll make sure to check out that part of code before I do.
Having a 'decent' plugin manager is my (not-google)-(when-I-have-spare-time)-of-code project :) Coming up with a decent proposal in the Technology Preview forum is one of the first roadblocks to tackle though. In the meantime I'm looking into some plugin-related code changes to gain (slowly but steady) a better affinity with them.

I was thinking about writing a plugin. This thread convinces me that nobody would ever see it, so no.

Well, a) you'd most likely write a plugin because you need it and b) then might want to share it and c) #23440: Expose FAQ, Services, How Tos, Plugins is still open and d)most probably will get fixed with the upcoming musescore.org Website update/redisign
