Changing note values of selected multiple notes in one go
It would be handy to have a feature that can multiply or divide the length of selected notes simultaneously, especially to make them all half or 1/4th as long, or twice or 4 times as long.
You can do this with one note (by selecting it and then either hit a number-key or click a note value in the toolbar) but not with multiple notes simultaneously.
Relevance:
1. sometimes after writing a certain section of music, I decide later to use another rhythm for the section (for instance: from 2/4 to 4/4 or 2/2, or from 12/8 to 3/4) and when note values have to change because of that, you have to completely write the whole section over again. With a feature like this, this could be done in one click. This applies for both small sections (a few bars) or entire pieces.
2. Sometimes you have a last note of a phrase in some or all parts of a score, while the rest of the bar is filled with rests. When composing I often like to try different note lengths in these cases, but now I have to change these notes' length in each part individually.
Comments
Yes, this is a commonly requested feature, we hope to do something along these lines some day.
It's one of the possible projects for GSoC this year, so perhaps one of the students will implement this over summer.
In the meantime you could also try to have a go with the DoubleTime and HalfTime plugins, but keep in mind that they are rather basic in usage and possibly are still unstable (#90721: Doubletime plugin crashes with Musescore 2.x)
