I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this comment or not, but it appears that this plugin crashes musescore v2.0.3 as well. I'm using the AppImage version on Debian Jessie.
I'm not sure if it's helpful or not but it looks like a seg fault, these are the last few lines output before the crash:
"undoInsertTime 0 at 0, spanners 0
expand voice: found Rest 4/4
addClone Rest at 480 1/4
addClone Rest at 960 1/2

Oops, sorry about this, I should have followed all of the links here before posting. Per this thread: https://musescore.org/en/node/81641#comment-410071 I obtained the newer 2.0.1 version of the doubletime plugin and that one runs w/o crashing. Just curious, why isn't that one in the main plugin repo then?

EDIT: oops, with the plugin, sorry...!

Probably because it didn't fix the issue, not in MuseScore 2.0.2 and not without #100181: cursor.addNote doesn't update internal segment reference.
Another reason most probably is that ABL provided the patch, but the Autor of the plugin, Doctor Vegtable hasn't yet accepted and integrated it.
also crashes 2.1 on a mac
Give the version(s) at https://musescore.org/en/node/81641#comment-453686 a try

Figured it out! Updated plugin
So you do have an updated plugin that does not crash anymore? Please share!
