Can't undo deleting a symbol in (Z) Menu

• Jun 4, 2011 - 01:38

I accidentally clicked the "delete" button in the symbols menu, and now there is only a blank spot where the symbol used to be. Does that mean it is gone forever? It would be great if there was a "restore" button, or a dialog box that confirms the deletion.

I don't get why there even is a way to delete these symbols. But no, it's not gone forever, because I've accidentally deleted symbols too. I can't remember if it came back after reloading the score, restarting MuseScore, or what, but it did come back.

It should not be possible to delete a symbol in the z palette, so its a bug. The idea is to have two sets of palettes, one set is constant and has all available symbols (the z palette is part of it). The other set (the side bar palettes) are customizable by the user. Symbols can be added by drag&drop from the first palette and removed with del.
Symbols can also be added to the palette by dragging from a score (shift + ctrl + drag). This is for example useful for customized text items.

The current developer version allows for several different sets of side bar palettes ("profiles"), managed in Edit->Profiles.
