first time authentication

• Jun 17, 2011 - 16:48

I am running musescore 1.0 on windows 7. When I click on "save online" under the "file" menu, it gives the first-time-authentication box as described in the handbook. I have never uploaded a score before, so this is normal. When I click "OK", it takes me to a login page. It does this irregardless of whether or not I am currently logged in( I do have an account). The problem is that when I type my password in and select "log in", it denies access and says, "Sorry, unrecognized username or password." the password works anywhere else on the site, but not on the login page.

Thanks in advance

In case you weren't aware, musescore.org an musescore.com are separate sites; do be sure you are using your msescore.com login. I think musescore.com is in a bit of flux right now, though, so it could also be temporary glitch.

im running windows 10 and when i download and try to activate i am asked for a password???
I have subscribed to the pro version and have a login password, but I want the professional version so i can adjust arrangements etc. How do I get the password to get past the installation password request?

To be clear: there is MuseScore - the free and open source software that runs on your computer - and there is musescore.com., a score sharing web site that provides both free and Pro accounts. An account (either free or Pro) is required to upload scores to musescore.com., but no account of any kind whatsoever is required to download and the MuseScore software on your computer. And it is the free MuseScore for your computer you would use to edit scores. So at no time should you be asdked for any sort of password when installing MuseScore - there simply is no such thing. Whatever you are doing that is asking for a password, it is *not* installing MuseScore.

So if that doesn't help clear up your confusion, please tell us more preciselyu what you are doing - what program you are using, what you are clicking on, what prompt you are seeing that leads you to believe you need a password, etc.
