Cadences chords inversion
hello
I posted on the other musescore forum but... it doesn't work for me so here is my question
I am trying to write cadences. I need to have the roman chord number and the inversion like V 6
4
How can I make the 6 and the 4 be under each other ? my 4 comes always under the V
and when I type a space, Musescore just goes under the next note. Also I would like the distance between the two digits not too far from another :
Can I reduce the distance in height between the two digits
Thank you for your help
one the last question :
in the beginning of my cadence I am supposed to write the Key the cadence is in :
C. I6-V6
4 etc.
How do I get the C to be in the right place. i.e. just before the chord number ?
thank you for your help

You don't say *how* you are attempting to write these symbols - are you entering them as chord symbols, lyrics, figured bass, staff text, or something else? Also, you haven't said what font you are using. In general, MuseScore doesn't provide out-of-the-box support for formatting of Roman numeral symbols. I find best results come from entering them as lyrics using a special font for roman numerals - I found one online called Sicilian Numerals that does the superscripting/subscripting automatically. Without a font like that, you'd probably be best of enter the numbers separately using a smaller font then positoining them manually.
Have also a look at these forum topic ( without having such a special font see the last comment):

Use lyrics (strg+L) and figured bass (strg+G) for example.
Format booth under Style-->General respectively Style-->text before.
The distance between the digits you can adjust in the menu for figured bass too ("line height")

thanks you very much.
please pardon my silly qustions, but I have been using musescore for ....4 days
so still lots to learn and to enjoy.
I just used the figured bass feature with no special font. I'll have a go at installing sicilian font.
Any way it is great to have somebody helping. Thank you

Below a little example. I've used for the "C" system text (ctrl+shift+t), for the roman number lyrics (strg+l) and for the digits figured bass (strg+g). You'll also find this in the menu under add->text
First set the format:
Style->General->figured bass:size=6pt, vertical position=7, line height=90%
Style->Text->lyrics odd lines: size=12pt, vertical position=7
Style->Text->System: size=14
Then select a note to enter the text. Use the horizontal/vertical offset in the inspector or the arrow keys to change the position.
You're welcome ;-).
