Setting staff property to "small staff" produces sixteenth notes where the beam distances are to short, so it seems the there only one fat beam.
My opinion: Going to small staff should reduce the beam thickness too (proportionally).
See the attached score (setting staff properties of the flute line (staff #1) to small staff). You will see the effect in the sixteenth note beams.
