How Do You Tie a Whole Note Chord to a Quarter Note Chord
I can't figure out how to make a chord that lasts for five beats in 4/4 time. I've tried having selected one note in the whole note chord and clicking the tie button but all it does is tie that note. So then I made it the quarter note the chord but when I played it, it lasted for 4 beats and then the top quarter note played like it was a second voice. I also tried putting in an eight note chord and then changing the last 4 beats to a quarter note. What I didn't know is that the |o| button doesn't do chords but only does single eight beat long notes. Can someone please tell me how to do it? I've seen people saying to click the stem, but in case you haven't noticed, whole note chords don't have a stem. I've tried everything I could think of. Please help!

If you are using 2.0.3, you can enter the tie directly while still in note input mode. First enter the chord, then witghout leaving note input mode, press the tie button and it will add all necessary notes and tie them. In older versions, you would have to first enter the two chords individually, then leave note input mode, then select the first chord (no need to select the "stem" although that does happen to also work for chords that actually have stems) and press the tie button.
If you're using the latest version (2.0.3) and use the keyboard for note entry this actually became super simple:
1. Enter note entry mode by pressing 'N'
2. Press 7 to set duration to a whole note
3. Press [A-G] to enter the first note
4. Press Shift+[A-G] to add the 2nd note the the chord
5. Press 5 to set duration to a quarter note
6. Press the + key
If you're using mouse entry or have to add the ties afterwards:
1. Click on a blank part of the page, to ensure nothing is selected
2. Hold the Shift key on the keyboard and click on one of the whole notes (You'll see a blue rectangular selection around the chord now)
3. Click the 'tie' button
