Lyric Protection
I just made a slight duration change, and lost the associated lyrics: I had two eighth notes, and changed the first to a dotted eighth, which automatically made a sixteenth of the second one. Alas, the lyrics didn't survive.

Because lyrics are tied to a beat, not a note. When the beat is altered, the lyric is lost. I've had this unexpected result as well. I don't like it either, but I don't know if it's fixable.
[ Correction: lyrics are tied to the notes, and I believe in voice #1. When the note disappears, there's no place for the lyric anymore so it goes to. ]
