The option to cancel SFZ import exists, too, at present, exactly the same. I haven't tested the PR, but I'm interpreting "in background" to mean that it doesn't halt everything else, so a cancel button would be less necessary. On the other hand, when loading something like Salamander, it could cause a serious slowdown even in the background.

No, it's the same as loading SFZ—it's in its own window out in front:
Ah, yes, only there we have the option to cancel, so sfz Import would need that too, at least we shouldn't lose it for audio export

In the PR the window is still there but doesn't block the whole program. So if you like you're still able to cancel the loading!
