Possible to select all specific rests?
I want to select all full rests in the score, is it possible? Or must it be done manually?

Do you mean full measure rests - the ones that look like whole rests but actually can be any duration - whatever the time signature requires? I don't know of a way select just those without selecitng *all* rests (eg, right click, Select / All Similar Elements). What is the use case here? I am having trouble imagining it. But maybe there is another way to do whatever it is you are trying to accomplish.

Yes, I do mean those. I would like to make all of them invisible. Well, gotta do that manually

You want to make full measure rests invisible, but not other rests? Is there some real world use case for this? Like I said, if you explain what you are actually trying to accomplish, we might be able to suggest a better way of accomplishing the goal.

I believe it's an ink-saving device in large scores.

Really? I can't imagine it making a significant difference. If this is something actually done in conventionally published scores, I guess it could be worth making an option. Or at least maybe someone could write a plugin in to automate it - that should probably be doable.

Actually, more realistically, it was probably about saving a few minutes of hand-engraving time, rather than ink. But I've definitely seen it done, and it makes a great candidate for an easy "Make whole measure rests invisible" plugin.

Indeed, like "col" to save the trouble of writing out doubled parts, it's probably a time-saving device from a bygone era that should *stay* bygone :-)

Maybe! ;-) But a quick search of the internet says Sibelius has this as an engraving style option, and Finale has it basically in Staff Properties.

Maybe you guys can implement it in the future :]

Or just a more targeted "Select more..." ?
In reply to Or just a more targeted by Isaac Weiss
Should be easy enough to use the "subtype" for duration. But if this really is something that is actually something more than an obsolete way to save time back in the days of hand-written scores, then a style option or staff property does make sense. Still trying to understand the actual reason for the request.

I think I would prefer a more complete selection facility than another staff option. Selecting all rests of the same duration, all notes with a given pitch, tpc, notehead, duration, accidental.

that would be even better!

I've heard "tpc" mentioned before without knowing what it is. But I absolutely support this idea.
In reply to I've heard "tpc" mentioned by Isaac Weiss
TPC is "tonal pitch class", basically think "letter name". So that C# and Db are different TPC's even though they are the same "pitch".

Anybody care to file a feature request, or just dive right in and implement it?

How does one file a feature request?
