Need ritard with dashed line
It's possible to create a ritard that has a dashed line. This is used for long ritards—the dashed line gives the performer a good sense of the length of the ritard.
The ritard is created with a text line. There are several problems with this:
- The text can't be styled to match other tempo text.
- The ritard applies to the whole system but the text line is staff-based, not system-based. Creating the parts results in only the first part receiving the ritard.
A solution might be to allow the text in text lines to be styled and to allow for system-based text lines.
The attached example shows the styling problem and the parts problem.
Note that some composers use rall. - - - - - and there may be other variants for long tempo marks.

Agreed; existing feature request at #9383: Rubato: ritardando and accelerando
Sorry, I thought I had searched for issues on "ritard". I probably typed something like "ritand".
