Which is the BEST Viola Soundfont ever?
I have to say this, I need to find a really, really awesome Viola Soundfont for MuseScore. Because the viola in the FluidR3 soundfont is no-good and kind of out of tune. And the Viola soundfont was used for some other soundfonts like the Omega soundfont. I wish that the other soundfonts like the solo strings, ensembles, brass, woodwinds, etc would have awesome and better sounds just like the GeneralUser GS Soundfont for MuseScore. And I'm NOT talking about using the GeneralUser GS Soundfont for the up-coming update for MuseScore.

FWIW my general impression is that stringed instruments are lousy in most sound fonts, but in general the cello sounds better than the viola and the viola sounds better than the violin.
There is almost always annoying vibrato (too big and too slow), often shaky intonation, and slow beginning of the tone, which makes fast passages very soft compared to "normal" music. Also pizzicato sounds like an explosion.
Having said that this poster (https://musescore.org/en/node/94941) has a sound font with a viola that I quite like (again more viola-ish than the violin is violin-ish).

I have tried Compifont. Let me just say that its sounds were good, especially among strings, however winds and percussion were mediocre. Also, some strings can not hold out long notes.
