i was trying to write out some snare drum notation, and i cant seem to figure out how to make a Diddle. should look like just a line across the stem of a note, but i cant seem to find it.
does anyone know?

Googling the phrase "musescore diddle" turned up the following:

lindsaybird,
What I have found is that the diddle notation involves a little bit of a hack.
The diddle marking is simply the tremolo mark, so if you want to make it appear on your sheet, just add "tremolo".
For playback, what I do is write out a separate snare part in voice 2 in order to reflect the 32nd notes (or whatever your roll/diddle subdivision happens to be). Then I just set voice 2 to "invisible". It takes some practice to get used to, but once you have it, I recommend you write it out on a template sheet so you can simply copy and paste into your working score.
I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Mike S.
