New notes should adopt current dynamic marking

When adding notes to an instrument that includes dynamic markings, the new notes always seem to be added as forte rather than the dynamics already assigned to the passage. For example - build a passage with multiple measures, and then add a pp mark to the first measure (so the entire passage is soft). Then delete some notes in the middle of the passage (replacing the notes with rests) and then add back new notes in that measure. The new notes should be pp (since the passage is marked as pp), but they play as f. Workaround is to remove the dynamic mark in the first measure, and then apply it again (so it tags all of the notes as soft), or to add dynamic markings only after all notes have been measured.
