Voice playback of some notes is very out of tune
When using standard Voice instrument (or bass/bar/tenor) the notes are very flat in some areas. It's variable - the A above middle C is in tune (ish), but the A below middle C is over a tenth of a tone flat, enough to sound dreadful. Other notes in that area are also very flat. Is there some reason for this?

I assunme you are using the default soundfont? Each soundfont provides its own samples for sounds, and some of them may change pitch slightly over the course of the note because they were recorded by real human musicians complete with their real imperfections. So some sounds might start out a little under pitch then slide up or whatever, because that's how it was recorded. Also, you may be aware there are different temperaments - there is no single universal standard for what any given pitch is supposed to sound like, despite what an electronic tuner might say. So in general, tuning is pretty subjective. That said, some choices made in the default soundfont tend to be displeasing to some people. You are welcome to experiment with other soundfonts, as described in the Handbook.

Yes I was using the default soundfont. After a bit of looking around I installed "052 Florestan Ahh Choir" but that was a bit crackly and distorted on playback. I found some here http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1200140 which are better ("554-Flobakks Choir Aahs" is at least in tune, though a poor sound, while "choir choral aahhs" is a better choral sound and in tune, but very breathy and with rather large gaps between notes).
Does anyone have a recommendation for choral works?
