Layout: hiding/deleting guitar tab parts?
Hello! I am working on a chord chart for a song. There are a few parts in the song that I have notated for guitar, so I am using the guitar+tab template so I can have both notes and TAB. But most of the song is only chords printed, no notes at all; just some rhythmic stuff and bars. To cleanup the bars from rests I use the hide function and it works like a charm but what I want to do is following: delete or hide all the bars that or not used in the guitar TAB line. It is such a waste of space to be forced to have both the note lines and tabs when I am just entering chords. Is this possible?

The guitar+tab template are linked staffs. Instead of using the template insert guitar notes and TAB as separate instruments.

Thank you so much! With separate instruments I can select one empty TAB bar and rightclick and choose "bar properties" and make it invisible. So far so good. But I can't find a way to select multiple bars?
This is one step closer to what I want to do. I can get the TAB bars "disappear" when they're not needed, in other words when I only have notated chords in the "regular" notes system. But I also want to shrink the space between the systems, because now I have a invisible area where the TAB is. Any further ideas?
I've attached a screenshot to make things clearer......

Instead of choosing the bar properties via right click use the general settings (in the menu under Style->General...):
- select "hide empty staffs"
- deselect "don't hide empty staffs in the first system" (if necessary)

Selecting multiple bars works the same as most other programs - eg, click one, shift+click another to select the range, or click one, shift+cursor to extend the selection in that direction.
To make the empty staves disappear, indeed, use the "Hide empty staves" function which does the job automatically - don't make individual measures invisible.

Yes, but that doesn't allow you to apply Measure Properties to more than one bar at a time, which is what i believe the OP was asking about. What you can do to quickly go through one bar a time is use the right/left arrow buttons in the bottom left of the window.
