soundfont chorus effect.
Is there anyway to turn off the dreadful compulsory chorus effect on the strings, when using a soundfont, and Mscore's own internal synth?
I tried this in the mixer, but it doesn't seem to work.
Some sort of config somewhere?
I'm willing a hack a file, if that's what it takes.
Alex.

Maybe the SoundFont you are using is at fault.
The chorus dial in the mixer does seem to affect playback.

I'm not sure that's the case.
I've just tried 3 more with the same lack of result, yet all 4 can have the chorus anulled in Qsynth with no problems.
I'm doing this in linux, so i don't know if that makes a difference.

with my soundfont, i can assign different instruments. Did you try different types of soundfonts?

I have a complete soundfont bank of instruments, all assignable.
But that's not related to turning an effect on or off, particularly as the soundfonts can be tested successfully in another app.
(Qsynth)
And as i understand this, the internal synth in Mscore is fluidsynth, which is the backend for Qsynth, yes?

Mscore sounds are customizable completely by the soundfont you use. if you don't like what the strings sound like... use a different one.
