Insert a note after finishing a score
I'm new to MuseScore and was delighted to input a whole song, only to realize when playing it back, a note was missing because I inadvertently neglected to input it! I realize there must be a very basic solution, but I have not been able to find out how to simply go back and insert a note that I neglected to input, even after experimenting in MuseScore, looking in the handbook and on the forum, and doing an online search for the answer. Perhaps I am wording my question wrong. Can anybody help? Thank you in advance.

It would be preferable to attach here your score to take a look.
You could try: click on a measure, from the menu Add/Bars->Insert One Bar;
Enter the notes, then hightlight the measure that is no longer needed, and use Ctrl+Del

It depends on how you omitted that fatal note.
If you entered all the notes correctly, just forgot that one note: In this case your meter is off from that point forward by the duration of the missing note. Just cut, correct and paste: Select all notes from the place of your error to the end and cut. Place your cursor on the rest after the last correct note. Enter the missing note, place the cursor right after the newly entered note and paste.
If on the other hand you omitted a note and another note (or rest) makes up for its duration Shoichi's idea will help you out.
One can think of scenarios that are a mixture of those two in which case you'll have to mix the solutions accordingly as well.

Shoichi and azumbrunn: I realized yesterday when working on a new piece of music that I had never thanked you both for helping me with the missing note problem. I ended up using azumbrunn's suggestion to cut everything after the spot where the missing note was needed, then inserting the note and pasting back in everything that followed it. I have actually used this trick numerous times since and it has been a life-saver. Thank you both so much for responding to my post - I appreciate your time and gracious help! Cheers, mm

Another safety idea is to make a copy of your score and work on it instead. You probably did that, but you would be surprised how many people work on the "original" score, only to realize they wrecked it!
As a technical writer, I seldom edit an original document. I make a copy, especially because I work with MS Word - one of the most buggy programs in the world. I still wish Bill Gates' parents had not procreated, but I digress :). Glad you fixed your score!
