How to write a semibreve chord with quaver notes playing in the same stave.

I'm trying to write semibreve chord in musescore while having the left hand playing quavers so the left hand will hold the chord and play the quavers but it isn't letting me. I have tried writing in the semibreve chord and then when I went onto writing the quavers the semibreve chord disappeared. Reversing this process by doing the quaver part first and then writing the semibreve didn't work either. I'm trying to get it to look how it does in the photo of an extract of ballad pour adeline but using quavers instead of crochets. Is this possible on musescore?
