MuseScore source filenames

In many open-source programs, when installed or looking over the source code, there are invariably many files, typically text files, without extensions. I suspect that in Linux this presents no problems, but it does cause some consternation under Windows. By default, Windows hides the file extensions, and you can't change them, and there are no editors listed under the Send-To option. When such a file is double-clicked, you get a dialog box to choose your app to open the document but you can't set it as the default app because of the lack of an extension. Windows really doesn't understand files without extensions!

Would it cause problems if the ".TXT" extension was added to some of these source files under the MSCORE folder in the source repository (branch and trunk), like:
