Pick-up note

Hi there,
Having trouble creating a pick-up note to the next measure. I am in 6/8 and wish to have the last eighth note of the measure be the pick-up to the next measure. I have tried dragging the 5 remaining 8th note rests to the front of the measure but it looks bad and uneven. In playback, those rests are not acknowledged so the pick up is still sounding like a downbeat followed by five 8th note rests.
