default file naming format
Currently the default file naming algorithm is song_instrument.mscz
I upload most of my arrangements to a server that, when accessed only displays the first 10 or 12 letters of the filename. This can be troublesome for other band members when looking for their parts as the instrument name is rarely visible.
Is there a way or could you make an option to name the file instrument_song.mscz instead?

I guess you are talking about the default file names for parts not scores. These are indeed origninalfilename-partname.* with originalfilename by default being derived from the titel of the score and partname from well, the partname.
Change the order tp parname-originalfilenema.* would result that in an alphabethical list the score would end up in an entirely different corner of the listing as the parts, so I don't think this is a good idea.

I see your point. Although the way I have my file system set up is folders by song name and then in each song folder, the parts, specifically PDFs. That way it avoids having umpteen files all beginning with "Alto Saxophone"

Something else to consider though - think about the people who then need to download these pieces. Chances are they end up putting them all in the same folder. And now your lead trumpet player will have a bunch of pieces whose names all start "Bb_trumpet_1_", which doesn't really help, either.
I'd consider going to a naming scheme where you enter an abbreviated score title in the export dialog, so instead of "Yet Another Blues Tune - Bb_trumpet_1" you get "YABT - Bb_trumpet_1" or whatever.
