small bar as variant
The attached image is an example of "small bar as variant". I mean: the small alias in a main piano score, you know.
Well, I tried to arrange with the settings (in General Style "Hide empty etaves", in Staff properties "Small", and in Measure properties "Visible" only for THAT variant bar.
The result is not exactly what I want: you see that at the beginning of the Bracket there's a too long barline! Instead, I'd like to add a dashed barline's extension from the bottom of the Normal barline of bar 10, until the beginning of the small bar.
Any advice, please?
Thanks.

Sorry but it doesn't seem to answer the question: how to delete the initial barline extension?
And then the second question: how to extend/shorten a single barline WITHOUT extend all them?
(Perhaps this could be a good new topic...)

You can't as far as I know. Even importing a white image in the score wouldn't work since the image will be below the barline.

You can't as far as I know. Shortening is not possible. To extend you could use the last line from the line palette.
I understand that "You can't" is not the answer you expected... But MuseScore doesn't support Ossia, that's why Chen Lung linked to a feature request.
