Insert multiple bars at end

It would be nice to have a shortcut to create multiple bars at the end of the score that didn't require leaving note input mode (all the clicking with the mouse is bad for my RSI). With a single bar this can be done; pressing CTRL-B creates a new bar. However if I do shift-ins then I can choose the number of bars but this gives an error because I first have to click a bar with the mouse. Couldn't this operation default to 'add bars to the end of the score' like CTRL-B does and only add the bars inside the score if a bar was selected?
