Recording on an USB stick
I have written a melody for our choir and would like to record in on an USB stick. Is that possible? and if so, what to do?

You would use the Export function (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/saveexportprint#export) to save it to one of the supported audio formats (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/file-formats-0#audio).
Note that due to licensing issues, MuseScore itself can't distrubute the files required to save directly to the mp3 format. However, the link above does mention where to get those files (they are free) and to have MuseScore use them.
You'll likely want to go for mp3 (or wav) as audio format, depending on where/by whom the USB stick will be played back.

Thanks for your reply.
I have saved the LAME_env.dll on my computer since I wasnt to use the mp3 format but have apparently done something wrong. When trying to export my melody, I get the information that the musescore could not open the mp3 encoding library.
Any suggestions?

Could you provide the following information?
1. Did you download the exe/dmg or zip version of lame?
2. Where did you save it, which folder/location?
3. Does MuseScore still ask you to tell it where it can find the dll?

I downloaded the lame_enc.dll file, no zip file. (I did not see eny exe/dmg file, and if I had I would not have known what to use it for.)
The file was first saved it on the desktop and I tried to use it from there. When it did not work, I moved it to the MuseScore program under plugins.
When I try to export, the program tells me I have to install the lame file and from where I can download it. I have to show the program where the file is on my computer and I have to do this only once. Then MuseScore asks if I want to look for the file, which I do. The program tels me that the MP3 encoding library couldn't open.
I hope you understand my explanation. English is not my mother tongue.

This indicates that it is the wrong lame_enc.dll. I got mine from a zip file, lame_v3.99.5.zip, once taken from http://lame.buanzo.org/#lamewindl, attached here for convenience

The site we link to does not have a direct .dll download. As Jojo-Schmitz mentioned, it is important that you use the correct version/variant of the file.
[EDIT]removed link, use the attachment from Jojo instead[/EDIT]
Depending on your mother tongue, we might have a subforum in your language as well. Check the Languages dropdown at the right side of this page.

LAME_env.dll is plain wrong, it is lame_enc.dll, and it needs to be the one from the link above, not just any you might have found somewhere or as part of some other package (been there, done that, with same bad results)
