Musescore files gone?!
Hello.
I have been facing problems to open a couple of files in musescore.
It says (in danish):
"Elementet Clifford Brown - Stompin' At The Savoy som denne genvej refererer til, er ændret eller flyttet, så genvejen fungerer ikke længere. VIl du slette genvejen?"
And translated to english:
"The element Clifford Brown - Stompin' At The Savoy that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so the shortcut no longer works. Will you delete the shortcut?"
Is the file gone? Can i find it somehow? (I only find the shortcut when using the search function).
This is not the first time it happens to me. It is really sad and depressing to use 4-5 hours transcribing a Clifford Brown solo or writing a choral movement to find out that the files are missing when you are done and have saved them.
Should i consider changing program?
Help me please!!
(i use windows vista)

This is probably not due to MuseScore. The message you are quoting is a message by Windows Vista. Did you save your files in a proper place? why your files have been replaced by shortcuts?

I saved my files in Documents. And no it did not say why my files have been replaced by shortcuts.

There is no reason that MuseScore delete your files and replace them by shorcut (MuseScore doesn't even know about shortcuts...) so it's likely a problem with your computer...
MuseScore does save a backup copy of the last edited score in
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\MusE\MuseScore\
. Check in there if you can find a copy of your scores. In reply to There is no reason that by [DELETED] 5
Thanks for your help.
When i enter C: \Users\USERNAME i can't find any AppData, and no folders at all with musescore in it.
I have found a folder called "Programs(86x)" where musescore is in, but i just can't find any backups.
Any ideas where i can find it?

Thank you so much!
Found out that the AppData folder was hidden which i revealed in Control Panel --> Folder Options --> Show hidden files and folders.
Phew! Hours of work have been saved!
Cheers!
