Leaping edits
As long as I'm complaining, another thing that drives me crazy about Musescore is the way that, if you are editing the last measure of a part, the edit cursor doesn't stay in that measure but jumps to the next measure BELOW, which means that if you are editing the last measure on the page, the cursor jumps to the next page. I think I understand the rationale for this: it's assumed that you are merrily editing measure after measure and so want the cursor to keep advancing. But I don't work like that, I work measure by measure: I edit a measure, look at it, play it, edit it again, look at it, play it ... Having the cursor suddenly fly off to a new destination makes working like this very frustrating and cumbersome. Is there any way around this, that is, to turn off the feature that moves to the next measure after you edit the last note in the current measure?

If a picture says a thousands words, a video says even more. The MuseScore developers will love you for using http://www.screenr.com :)
I've been bothered by this also. You probably know this, but if you use the back arrow, it returns to the desired bar.

Although I don't actually do this often, I have been know to use the "poor man's scroll mode" during note entry - I set the height of the page just enough for one system, and set the width of the page as wide as it goes. No more jumping. Then I set the page back to normal when I'm ready to deal with the music as a page rather than measure by measure. Another approach is just to enter manual line breaks every so often, so that each passage you work on starts on a new line. You can then the Break Every X Measures plugin with a value of 0 to remove all the breaks.

Interesting idea. This is akin to Sibelius' panoramic mode, which takes you out of page mode. Might be a useful facility for some people. I don't use it myself, but perhaps I would if I did anything substantial (most unlikely!!).
Thanks for the replies. I'll investigate the various suggestions.
