Hi

Please let me know how to equalize the notes in the first and the last measure in a bar of time signature 4/4 without RESTS. I have attached the image of the melody "wa'e s me for prince charlie". I cant delete the RESTS in the first measure.
Thanks

You goal is to force these measure to have fewer beats than the time signature suggests. The way to do this is to right click the measure, Measure Properties, and change the "Actual duration" to 1/4 for the first measure and and 3/4 for the last.

To complete the repair you'll need to turn the first measure after the repeat sign into a 1/4 in the same manner as well as the very final measure into a 3/4.

You remarked that you can not delete the rests. This is by design. An empty score has rests in every measure--exactly enough rests to make up the full measure. Filling in the notes means you replace the rests; it is the only way to get rid of them* (other than making the measure shorter as above). This protects the Musescorer from making a mistake and all of a sudden having a measure with an incorrect number of beats in it by error.

* At least in voice 1.
