Problem entering drum parts
2.0.3 / Win 7/10
Two problems with percussion notation:
1. Shift + [A-G] adds the drum instrument defined by the shortcut letter to an existing note. However if the instrument to be added does not have a shortcut letter it cannot be added from the drum tools window. For example try adding a sidestick to a an existing hihat beat:
Solution: Allow the user to add another instrument, from the note tools window, to an existing note, even if the note to be added does not have a shortcut.
2. If you have both the on-screen piano keyboard and drum tools window open at the same time, if you click on a percussion instrument in the note tools window, this is immediately mapped to every key in the piano keyboard. You then have to close and re-open the file to reset the keys.
Solution: Ensure that the Piano keyboard entry is independent of the note selection in the Note tools window.

1) It's not true that you can't add a note to a chord on a percussion staff if it doesn't have a shortcut. You can't add it by keyboard, obviously, but you can click the icon then click on the staff and it gets added to the chord. Another method is to add something - anything - via shortcut, then using the arrow keys to change "pitch", although of course that's kind of kludgy. As a feature request, I could see adding Shift + double click as yet another method.
2) I see what you mean. Ideally, the piano keyboard would function as a substitute for MIDI when entering drum pitches, but once an icon in the drumset window is selected, it's all over for the piano keyboard. Could you file a bug report on that?
