Downloading Version 1.2 and music written in Version 1.1

Please let me know if I will be able to edit and play the music already written in Version 1.1 on the new Version 1.2.
Also, will Version 1.2 completely replace my Version 1.1 program.
I have the MuseScore Version 1.1 on Windows XP.
