MuseScore Not Responding on home screen
I have been using MuseScore version 2.0.3 for the last 2 weeks without an issue until yesterday. Now everytime i launch the application it opens up but as soon as i click the cursor anywhere on the application the pinwheel of death appears. I have tried resetting the application through terminal and that has not worked. I have also noticed that it also opens a second startup window even though the application is already open behind it. Even after leaving the application for over an hour i return to see it is still not responding.
I have also tried downloading and using every version of MuseScore 2 back to 2.0 and they all have the same issue.
I have attached an image of how the far the program will go before stopping and not responding.
I am also on a mac running 10.10.5
Would anyone know how this issue could be resolved?

First thing I would do is revert to factory settings like this https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings
Maybe one of the Apple users can help prevent it in the future.
One thought. Did you add any sound fonts? Did you do anything else to change the way you interface with MuseScore? Just some things to think about.

the issue is i cant even access the help tab as it will not respond, in order to revert to factory settings in 2.0.3. And when i downgraded and tried older versions of MuseScore 2 resetting it through terminal did not fix the issue either.
And i have not added any sound fonts or changed the interface.

Whilst 2.0.3 indeed has a menu option to revert to factory settings; you can still do that using the terminal as well, with the same -F argument as in the previous versions.

I tried resetting through terminal and it still immediately stops responding upon launch
Have you tried waiting for the splash screen to disappear *before* clicking anywhere? Not that this should itself cause problems, but any information helps. Or does the splash screen never go away even if you *don't* click anywhere?
Have you read the Handbook section under "Known incompatibilities"?

the splash screen remains even if i don't click anywhere and it will just immediately stop responding.
Also i have read the handbook of known incompatibilities and there is nothing in there that could help me in this instance.
I ended up fixing the issue by installing a fresh copy of mac os and then installing musescore, it is working properly now.
